Eye candy UI is common (though Roam goes the eye-searingly ugly route for reasons unclear) but less clear is what is added beyond internet/web access. Newer is not necessarily better but breathy messianic announcements of many new systems are often describing old wine in new skins. The pitch came to nought but did surface in '67-'68 in Nelson’s collaborations with Andy van Dam to create HES †. Take a look at Ted Nelson’s pitch to publisher’s Harcourt Brace in 1966 (c.yrs pre Hypercard) to look at some richer ideas. Hypercard is interesting though arguably quite late to the game. Both access to the work of others and our own ability to share. I think what has changed in the last 30-odd years is access. A reason I’ve stayed supporting this community for some 16 years is that it is a place where generally people are looking to learn, share and improve. Exceptions abound, but not enough to count as the norm. Little meeting of minds and lots of shouting at/past each other. The joy of Tinderbox, vs these ‘dump it all in the hopper’ tools is that I-as a human-still have a good degree of control and can make the software work for me rather than me for it.īut do we collaborate now, or merely shout ‘mine’ at each other? My own doctoral research into Wikipedia shows, sadly, that this isn’t really the case- contrary both to intention and expressed aim.Īll too often ‘collaboration’ is more like taking a local bar fight and expanding to global scale. No wonder the results are not all we’d hoped for. The latter does matter as that mess is what is feed (often unfiltered) in to ‘AI’. ![]() The result is sub-par, even for digitally born (‘printed’) documents. not all the chrome, page numbers, copyright notices) of a PDF. They solved print fidelity (recall trying to print someone else’s document pre PDF?) and having a fixed copy of record (albeit much of that is paywalled Adobe ‘secret sauce’). PDFs are another bad human choice with consequences. DEVONthink strikes me as a much better example of data collection/curation and plays well with real ‘TfT’ apps like Tinderbox to explore that content. Actually collecting more stuff generally makes more noise, and automatic linkage based just on (possibly ambiguous) world strings. The Mac ecosystem if full of lots of really interesting, deep tools-normally from small/indie developers, at aren’t just doing the underpants gnomes business plan: collect off the things → → success (and riches!). The term ‘Tools for Thought’ also seems self-referential as a terms is it seems a label for ‘cool new stuff’. The ‘Tools for Thought’ term itself is unhelpful, a ‘new’ apps like Roam and Obsidian (I don’t know LogSeq) are nothing new but a re-heat for new generations of ideas that have been around since the 1970s-1980s though (presumably for money making reasons) they prefer not to recognise prior art. ![]() Anyway I’m equally confused as surely the above is ‘TFT’ or ‘TfT’? Of is it an AI-indexing guess of ‘Thought Tools, For’? ![]() ![]() ![]() The show follows Julia-who left an Orthodox Jewish lifestyle in Monsey, New York to pursue a life of entrepreneurship and freedom-along with her husband Silvio Scaglia Haart, daughter Miriam, and sons Shlomo and Aron. I keep binging the series because I finish every episode with more questions than I began it with, and I’m convinced the next episode will answer those questions. But I don't necessarily watch it because I love it. This narrative device employed to pique interest certainly worked-I've been hooked on watching My Unorthodox Life ever since it came out on July 14. How is it possible that this was the start? There was no soft introduction, no gentle easing into getting to know the characters-just aerial shots of New York City (as any good reality series has) and a direct leap into the hijinks, with very little explanation. Did I miss something? I grabbed my remote and rewound to the beginning of the show. The three are seated at a table in Julia’s Tribeca apartment, discussing the young couple's sex life, as the matriarch delivers some advice on how to keep things lively. In the opening scene of the first episode, the viewer is thrown right into Julia’s dealings with her daughter Batsheva and son-in-law Ben Weinstein. Ra'ed also worked as Robert’s personal assistant at Elite Model Management in August of 2020, per Bustle.Welcome to the W TV Club, a spin-off series of W Movie Club, in which W magazine’s editors pick a season of a television show they’d recommend you binge-watch.įrom the moment I began watching Netflix’s new reality show My Unorthodox Life-which follows the shenanigans of Elite World Group’s CEO, Julia Haart, and her family-I knew I would have questions. His most recent job-which he may still be working for-is listed as the social media marketing manager for Fully Bully Sticks LLC, a company that sells dog treats. Thankfully, his LinkedIn profile provides some context. He says on Instagram that he’s “corporate by day and vocal performer/entertainer by night,” which is kind of vague. He also has a master's degree in classical vocal performance from the Manhattan School of Music. ![]() Ra'ed graduated in 2009 with a degree in music business and vocal performance. ![]() Ra'ed is Lebanese and he went to Syracuse University, per LinkedIn, which is where he and Robert first met. But it looks like these two love birds have sorted things out on their end.but more on that in a second. The open relationship becomes a point of tension in season 2, with the Haart family weighing in. All About ‘My Unorthodox Life’s Robert Brotherton. At one point, Ra’ed even suggests that Robert go out and date more men, because he's been meeting lots of cuties at his gym. Ra’ed and Robert are actually old friends who are trying out an open relationship. This season viewers meet the charismatic, loud-and-proud, artistic Ra'ed Saade, who happens to be the new boyfriend of Elite World Group's former COO, Robert Brotherton. And spoiler: If he looks familiar, you may have seen him on a reality show before. Well, here’s everything you need to know about Ra'ed. ![]() Ra'ed quickly takes the Haart's world by storm, leaving everyone wondering who, exactly, this man is. And for another, she and her husband, Silvio Scaglia, are in the middle of a nasty divorce (so you won't see a lot of him).īut there have also been some fun, heartwarming, new developments, like the apparance of one Ra’ed Saade, who is introduced as a new boo for one of the existing cast members. For one, Julia was fired from Elite World Group and is no longer CEO. Now, the show is back for round two, but not without some major life updates and change-ups in the cast. In case you're new to the show, a quick recap: In season 1, Julia talks a lot about how she fled her life in an ultra-Orthodox Jewish community in Monsey, New York, creating a new life for herself as a fashion designer, sex-positive queen, and high-powered CEO of Elite World Group, a modeling management agency. My Unorthodox Life is back for a second wild season, and it dives back into the life of fashion mogul Julia Haart and her four children. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The ads they put at the end keep you from playing another game with the same people again. ![]() ![]() But if someone gets mad then they report you and next thing you know you can’t chat and there is nothing you can do about it. I usually say hi if spoken to or chat with people if they want. They will just ban you from being able to talk to people without an explanation. This is so irritating for the players that just want to have a good game at lunch. They need to figure out a way to ban the players that come in blind nil get bad cards and leave. I shouldn’t even be seeing the ads since I paid for the app. Now it’s like they don’t care about the player. Then more people started playing and more ads started coming on with every update. Since then I have watched it get better and better. I down loaded this game years ago for $.99. Otherwise game is great when I find partners who aren’t complete morons. A lot hold high spades until the end and also go over bid like they’re trying to get bags.Īnd then, of course, there are the knuckleheads who bid zero and don’t make it and then bail on the game right after.Īs for pace of game, there’s way too much time on the timer, especially for the bid process. Some even going blind nil when desperation sets in despite there being less than 10 bids on the table. I have been paired with countless inexperienced players who are completely clueless how to play - like trumping you’re partner when they have a trick all but won, holding cards until late and giving the opposition the chance to force them out instead of using them early to force your opponent to react, this not making their bid, and not taking tricks early to hit your bid and waiting until it’s too late.
